Job Description:

To maintain the safety of employees and members as well as maintaining proper communications and coordination of normal work and emergency situations between members, department heads, stand-by crews and personnel during the assigned shift, including situations related to electric outages, water problems and/or service issues.

-Maintain all necessary information Logs in an accurate and timely manner.
-Operate the Outage Management System properly and efficiently, including monitoring new incidents, entering incidents, declaring outages and closing outages as quickly as possible, as well as monitoring water situations and service reconnects. Must be able to prioritize received incidents and dispatch to available crews in a timely manner.
-Maintain proper radio and telephone communication at all times, including being aware of the location of all crews at all times.
-Maintain an accurate switching and tag-out lists.
-Monitor the supervisory control unit with the knowledge and ability to open and close circuit breakers under supervision of the operations supervisor or in the field crew.
-Manage disconnects and reconnects for non-pay in ATS and OMS system.
-Notify appropriate department head for instructions on severe cases during non-working hours.
-Monitor weather for the TEC service area and give advance notice of pending weather issues to appropriate supervisor.
-Monitor surveillance cameras for T-1 compound at all times, and other areas if advised; notify the proper authorities of any suspicious activity.
-Maintain working database for TEX truck maintenance.
-Complete clerical work as scheduled by the Operating Superintendent.
-Receive and properly process calls from members and/or Law Enforcement for power outages, miscellaneous power issues, water problems and/or service issues as needed.

Requirements:

-High School Diploma or GED
-Basic Math Skills
-Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
-Ability to use multiple computer systems simultaneously in order to complete task.
-Proven ability to handle high pace and stressful work environment (handle time sensitive issues, problem solving relative to public safety, etc.)
-Associates degree preferred
-Both written and verbal communication skills
-Must be willing to work rotating shift consisting of Monday - Sunday; 24 hours a day.
-Will be required to work during storms and outages (will be called into work).
-2 years' experience either working as a dispatcher or in a technical troubleshooting role (help desk, etc.)
