SUMMARY: Support project goals by testing and building supplies in support of process development, product design, non-clinical and clinical testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
* Develop analytical methods for characterization of small molecules, peptides, proteins and vaccines in novel drug/device combination products.
* Conduct preformulation studies to investigate excipient compatibility with drug substances.
* Support technical information database and knowledge management system development
* Perform all work using appropriate safety measures and follow the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
* Document all laboratory testing and maintain accurate and legible notebooks and records
* Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical science with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries.
* Must have 2 years hands-on experience in using capiliary gas chromatography or high performance liquid chromatography
* A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience developing analytical methods for biopharmaceutical compounds (Proteins, Mabs, Vaccine, etc.) by HPLC, UV-VIS.
* Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
* Must have demonstrated ability to multi-task in high activity environment.
* Well versed in safety and handling of recombinant complex proteins and hazardous agents including vaccines
* Strong Excel, Word and Power Point skills.

Interacts with project management and team personnel.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Interacts with suppliers and consultants.
