As key members of the Medical Informatics group at DaVita Clinical Research (DCR), a Medical Communications Writer II works closely with authors to develop publications (manuscripts, case reports, letters to the editor, review articles, supplements) for peer-reviewed clinical journals as well as abstracts, posters, and slide presentations for scientific congresses. Additionally, a Medical Communications Writer II may lead the publication planning and execution process, providing technical expertise to the project and client teams. A Medical Communications Writer II will, under the supervision of Medical Communications Managers, liaise with medical leads, biostatisticians, safety experts, and health economists to develop publications for internal and external key stakeholders in order to provide timely and effective execution of the publication plan to support DCR business units.

Additional responsibilities may include:

Having a thorough understanding of the ESRD and CKD biology, product, and competitive scientific data Preparing or editing documents for submission to external clients Preparing or editing internal documents requiring robust scientific summaries Performing QC checks on documents Conducting literature searches, reviewing pertinent literature, and preparing summaries or abstracts, as required Supporting DCR activities at scientific congresses and provide coverage at scientific congresses (daily updates, post-meeting summaries) Supporting the development and execution of advisory boards and speakers' programs Preparing and delivering scientific presentations to key customers and key opinion leaders Here is what you can expect when you join our Village:

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree with 4 to 5 years medical communications and/or writing experience, or PharmD or PhD in the life sciences or a related medical/scientific field with 2 to 3 years medical communications and/or writing or postdoctoral experience Knowledge of publication guidelines and best practices Experience analyzing and communicating scientific data in peer-reviewed journal publications and in abstracts and presentations at scientific congresses Experience working independently with minimal supervision; ability to work remotely in a matrix environment Knowledge of pertinent software (eg, MS Office, EndNote, Adobe Illustrator) Preferred Qualifications:

Previous medical communications and/or medical writing experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company Previous relevant nephrology, cardiology, and/or oncology experience Successful track record in publication planning and execution Superb written and verbal communication skills; experience in both scientific and business presentations and communications Ability to apply project management skills to advance multiple projects simultaneously Solid skills in critically appraising scientific literature and conducting comprehensive searches Sound working knowledge of ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines and requirements applicable to medical and scientific affairs activities Why wait?
