Independent Opportunities of Michigan, Inc. (IOM) is a nonprofit Human Services organization located in Utica, Michigan. IOM provides support to individuals with disabilities throughout Macomb and Oakland counties, and our main goal is to empower these individuals to achieve personal growth through the development of choices, personal strengths, and positive relationships.

Our Human Resources Team is looking to add a creative and intelligent individual who is passionate about their work, loves to be challenged and strives to be extraordinary. This is a Full Time position and the selected candidate will receive (specific) paid holidays, paid vacation time, tuition reimbursement, years of service awards, and be eligible to elect Health, Dental, Vision, Life and AFLAC benefits.


Human Resources tasks may include:
* Assisting with recruitment, hiring and onboarding for all open caregiver positions
* Maintaining HRIS system and 350+ audit-ready employee files
* Providing assistance with the administration of benefits, FMLA leaves and Work Comp
* Data entry and tracking of caregiver trainings to ensure contract compliance
* General HR support and administration

Administrative tasks may include:
* Greeting and checking in all visitors and answering calls on a multi-line phone system
* Providing technical assistance for copy machines, phones, fax and postage machines
* Various clerical duties including printing, scanning, filing, organizing, and data entry
* Scheduling trainings, maintaining a wait list and taking payment for classes
* Providing a main point of contact for the IOM office and a liaison between all staff
* General Administrative support and administration

* Possess a current and valid MI driver's license and can pass multiple background checks
* Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
* Have 1-3 years experience in Human Resources or Administration
* Have excellent writing and communication skills and can maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2010
* Are willing to wear multiple hats and can juggle lots of tasks simultaneously
* Are willing to come in early or stay late to get the job done
