About this job
Under general supervision, provides clerical support to the department, types various correspondence & documents, orders supplies, answers department phones, maintains files, provides reception for designated areas.
Essential Functions:
* Upholds KP's Policies & Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities & applicable state, federal & local laws
* Performs a variety of clerical duties; including but not limited to staffing, schedules, MD payroll, employees timecard recording etc
* Provides telephone reception
* Takes & returns messages
* Assists members in obtaining medical services
* Completes forms associated w/ member services
* Provides member/family/visitor instruction & information as directed
* Uses computerized systems to enter & retrieve member data
* Assists in tracking of member appointments
* Books appointments
* Assists in Quality Improvement projects as directed
* Promotes quality of service by serving as a resource to members/visitors
* Orders & maintains equipment & supplies
* Demonstrates support of the philosophy & complies w/ the policies & procedures of the organization
* Apply correct medical terminology, format & abbreviations
* Type medical & research papers for publication
* Create graphs & charts
* Collect & compile cumulative data & statistics
* Complete worksheets by tallying activities
* Construct statistical tables
* Establishes & maintains courteous, cooperative relations w/ the public, patients & other personnel
* Promotes, ensures & improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent w/ the organization's philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations & quality of service
* Performs other related duties as required
Pay Grade: 13
Basic Qualifications:
* One (1) year general clerical experience preferred
* High School Diploma/GED
* Typing 40 wpm. Typing must be current within one (1) year. Please contact Human Resources for testing.
* Ability to compose & edit department correspondence
* Demonstrates written & oral communication skills
* Knowledge of Medical Terminology if required by the department preferred
Notes:
* Wll have primary responsibility for assisting in Pain Management, providing receptionist coverage, filing, answering phones, etc.
* This is an on call position, days and hours may vary according to departmental need.
