The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr Data Architect for our Information Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary
This individual will provide guidance, leadership and solid execution of data architecture strategies for the BI data stores (data warehouses and data marts) and make sound data architecture recommendations to project teams. This individual will be responsible for the design of logical data models, physical data structures and metadata definitions for the BI data stores .

Essential Job Functions:

- Designs, develops, manages and/or updates data models (both logical and physical) of the staging, data warehouse and data mart areas

- Evolves data models to meet new and changing business requirements

- Coordinates collection of business requirements for data needs

- Captures and maintains metadata and data dictionaries for BI data stores

- Maintains central metadata repository for data warehousing data models

- Maps logical data models to physical data models and the Data Definition Language

- Communicates database designs to business and technical audiences, including business users, program sponsors, database administrators, ETL developers and BI developers

- Works with DBAs to migrate schema changes between development, QA and production environments

- Designs schemas for optimal query performance on the Netezza platform

Job Requirements:

- Possesses full life cycle experience in data warehousing

- Understands the fundamental concepts and architectural principles of data warehousing

- Familiar with data warehouse design best practices such as dimensional modeling and star schemas

- Stays current in new data warehousing technologies and seeks opportunities to develop knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

- 8+ years of experience as a data architect in large-scale, complex BI environments, with numerous data sources, BI applications, and thousands of users

- 6+ years of experience with ERwin Data Modeler or similar tools

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale data warehousing MPP platforms such as Netezza and/or Teradata

- Working knowledge of SQL

- Experience with ELT (Extract-Load-Transform) data integration methodology

- Familiarity with ETL tools for large data volumes such as Informatica

- Familiarity with BI tools such as MicroStrategy and/or Tableau

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent training, education and experience.
