About this job

The Document Imaging Technician is responsible for efficiently and accurately preparing, scanning and quality checking documents into the document imaging system.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Ensure all discharged records are received for scanning

* Prepares medical record documents (e.g., remove staples, repair tears, remove duplicates, remove electronically fed documents, patient identifiers are present) prior to scanning, as designated in the HSC Policies and Procedures

* Identifies and scans documents according to policies and procedures

* Verify images are correct and legible when scanned into the imaging system

* Ensures each scanned document is associated to the appropriate patient and the document type and page number are identified

* Maintains productivity according to communicated standards at all times

* Monitors imaging system daily for scanning errors and/or requests

* Participates at regular intervals in quality scanning audits as designated by management

* Responsible for daily maintenance of scanning equipment

* Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"

* Other duties as assigned

* PC skills -- demonstrates proficiency in keyboard operations, Microsoft Office applications and others as required

EDUCATION

* High school diploma or equivalency

EXPERIENCE

* 1 year experience in an office environment preferred
