Job Summary:
The SQL Database Administrator – Senior is responsible for providing technical hardware, operating system, and database software support in the form of installations, upgrades, problem determination, architecture and maintenance for all SQL database platforms managed by Global Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform all functions associated with the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL Server systems and databases including configuration, security, backup, logging, reporting and recovery procedures
• Install and configure physical and virtual SQL Server instances, including clustering, using established standards
• Maintain and improve database operational efficiency
• Perform troubleshooting and support for production and non-production environments
• Analyze and recommend changes in architecture, processes and procedures to created standardization across environments and countries
• Document environments, processes and procedures
• Act as subject matter expert for projects, development teams and country IT
• Ensure appropriate levels of proactive monitoring and alerting for DBA managed systems
• Collect and provide data to support various reporting requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years experience in Information Technology
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Database Administration for MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, including responsibility for database security
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Windows Server operating systems (2008, 2012), clustering and virtualization
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Minimum of 4 years experience with backups, restores and recovery models, as well as High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) for MS SQL Server
• Minimum of 4 years experience with SQL Server replication, mirroring and log shipping
• Strong TSQL skills including stored procedure and function creation and optimization
• Strong skills using Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Project and Visio
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, MVP certification
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and best practices
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS (2008 R2, 2012 R2), security, SPN and storage
• Experience using MS Center Operations Manager and Quest Spotlight
• Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services installation, configuration and report creation
• Experience in SQL Server Integration Services package creation and deployment as well as DTS to SSIS migration
• Knowledge of other RDBMS
• Experience with cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure
• Spanish, Portuguese or French proficiency
