The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a Senior Wiki Engineer for our Content Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for the curation and management of all process documentation for the TWC Content Operations group. Additionally, the Engineer will be responsible for administrative management of the Content Operations Wiki, which will serve as the primary repository for all group documentation. This tool will serve as the source of truth for all system debugging and troubleshooting within the organization, so consistent accuracy and navigability are critical.
Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Definition of vision and organization of the wiki system to provide a successful usable tool to the Engineering Team.
· Obtain buy-in of processes and architecture from the relevant group stakeholders.
· Collection of technical specifications and information from organizational subject matter experts.
· Formatting and directing all wiki content into a consistent holistic user interface.
· Integration of documentation acquisition into the software and systems development lifecycle.
· Overall wiki management and system administration.
Job Requirements:A BS or BA in Engineering, Natural Sciences, English or related field.A proven work history developing technical documentation around system architectures and components.Highly organized personality with the ability to work with minimal supervision.A system architectural perspective with the ability to maintain a long-term documentation system vision.Excellent people skills to acquire information from subject matter experts.The ability to synthesize complete system documentation from potentially disorganized pieces of information.
Preferred Qualifications:7 - 10 years working in a technical communications environment.A history of self-directed task management.Project completion history around creating and maintaining documentation for large and complex systems.Experience in understanding video delivery and/or Cable TV delivery systems.Hands on Systems Engineering experience a plus.Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
