JOB DESCRIPTION

We're currently seeking a Communications Specialist 3 for a contract opportunity in Tarrytown, NY . This is a great opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading suppliers of a wide range of products, solutions and services in the field of energy technology.

The Employee and Leadership Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing the creation, distribution and promotion of the company’s content internally. S/he will serve as the managing editor for the company’s intranet as well as other internal digital and social media properties. This individual will be a key contributor in building the future state of internal content strategy at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics by helping to define and develop an editorial structure and model for sourcing content from across the organization. S/he will also be assigned additional employee communication responsibilities, including internal customer support and employee engagement projects.

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong project management, excellent communications skills (written and verbal), creativity, resourcefulness, passion, an understanding of and interest in the evolving online world, and a keen ability to analyze metrics and draw actionable conclusions. The ability to network in a complex and cross-functional environment, and work effectively within a corporate organization is critical to success.

Responsibilities:
• Support the development and management of a global internal editorial plan and content strategy, supporting the company’s strategic objectives and the company story.
• Identify and implement the most appropriate mix of traditional and new media to effectively create and influence positive perception and call to action among the global employee base.
• Provide counsel on specific communications – such as announcements, newsletters, and messages to the CEO – and manage distribution as needed.
• Continually mobilize and empower stakeholders to deliver best practice employee communication.
• Help manage DX intranet site(s) with content owners, to include developing and implementing best practices, posting accurate and relevant content, and reporting/analyzing metrics.
• Develop measurement practices to manage and communicate content performance.
• Build a cross-functional network of sources to personally stay informed of company news, milestones, and stories.
• Develop and implement employee engagement projects as assigned.
• Assist in the development of routine reports, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel presentations for internal audiences.
• Support corporate and brand guidelines as they relate to employee communications.
• Support/adhere to all communications policies and procedures.

Required competencies/capabilities:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a strong emphasis in corporate communications, employee communications, internal company journalism, or comparable work.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field (MBA or Masters preferred).
• Corporate experience highly desired; experience in healthcare field is also preferred.
• Proven experience driving successful content strategy and managing the content creation process.
• Experience creating, editing and publishing quality content in multiple formats – text, video, interactive.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; including writing, editing and proofing skills.
• Experience managing, monitoring and measuring online content on digital/social media platforms. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) tools preferred.
• High level of attention to detail and creativity.
• Proactive, flexible, and agile.
• Competent in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Photoshop experience desirable.
• Proven ability to work well in a highly matrixed organization, and with managers and employees of all levels in advising and gathering, preparing and vetting material in a poised and tactful manner.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Highly motivated and dynamic, with an ability to learn at an accelerated pace.
• Experience in collaborating and influencing, managing global projects with international counterparts.
• Tactical decision-making and analytical ability, while being able to oversee and manage end to end.

Travel: Position requires 5-10 percent travel.
