Position Overview

The Field Distribution Manager guides, directs and mentors Delivery Supervisors and Delivery Merchandisers, ensuring the optimal efficiency of the route delivery/merchandising function while meeting the company’s objectives and goals and maintaining excellent customer service.

Accountabilities
  • Provides coaching and training to the staff of Delivery Supervisors so that they become more effective as frontline leaders
  • Ensures continuous and frequent communication of business priorities with the Sales, Logistics and Tech/Ops Teams and clearly communicate these priorities to the team
  • Monitors actual performance versus the business plan and makes necessary adjustments
  • Evaluates merchandising plan results against desired results and make recommendations for improvements
  • Frequent interaction with Warehouse and Logistics to maintain an understanding of inventory levels
  • Creates and monitors workforce plans and line item expenses for the department
  • Utilizes continuous delivery analysis to identify delivery efficiencies
  • Ensures total D.O. T. compliance and fosters an atmosphere where total safety is a major priority


Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Margin Minder, Lotus Notes and Excel
  • Good communication and people management skills
  • An understanding of the different functions of each sales discipline and how they relate to each other to ensure the achievement of overall business objectives of the branch
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Leadership skills: influencing, teambuilding, recognizing others
  • Managerial courage and good demonstrated solving abilities
  • High School diploma required. Four year degree preferred
