Aerotek is seeking a degreed Mechanical Engineer to fulfill a permanent role as a Mechanical Designer at a growing local company. This facility is involved in the engineering, design, and drafting of equipment for a manufacturing facility. Fabricated equipment is primarily used as material processing equipment and ranges from rotary dryers, inclined conveyors, and unique fluid systems. All fabrication drawings are created utilizing the latest 3-D modeling AutoDesk Inventor software. Position will report to Engineering Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Utilize 3D Inventor Software to create and modify 3D Models, and Detail Drawings
  • Provide technical support for products
  • Support the plant quality process through drawing checking
  • Support shop floor and answer questions as fabricators manufacture equipment
  • Create designs and drawings to meet deadlines
  • Implement standardized designs with creative thinking for custom applications
  • Aid Designers and Engineering Manager with basic calculations, and equipment sizing (training is available)

Required Education, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • Bachelors of Science in a technical field, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent PC skills; including Word, Excel and Access
  • Experience in 3D Modeling software; preferably in Inventor (Solidworks, ProE, CATIA, Solidedge will be considered based on experience)
  • Basic AutoCAD
  • Naturally Mechanical Aptitude
  • Qualified applicants will be detailed oriented, well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicants must be able to multi-task, prioritize, successfully handle pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required
  • Successful candidate is safety-conscious, self-motivated, a team player, and is able to think proactively
  • Designer position should have experience in preparation of detail drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of material, for use in procurement and manufacturing
