Career Opportunity! **Direct Hire**Manufacturer of mechanical components located near Garden City is currently seeking a full-time Applications Engineer.
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for assisting customers in the selection of mechanical components for their design, advice on production requirements, provide technical support for Customer Service Representatives and Sales Representatives in answering customer’s technical requirements and provide technical expertise for the purpose of rendering written quotations. These stages include the planning, design, and installation of the part, several components or machinery and equipment in an industrial environment, using knowledge and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
Education & Experience Requirements: **Only candidates with all of the below will be considered for this position**
- BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering position
- Good understanding of mechanical concepts, drawings, and tolerance system, perform basic stress calculations, and knowledge of machine elements required
- Some experience in CAD design & development
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written (English)
- Have a working knowledge on Planning, Design and Installation
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Starting salary: $65,000 (contingent upon prior experience)
