Certified Surgical Tech - Surgery - per diem (Northside Medical Center)

Responsible to ValleyCare Health System for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to Nursing Department for assisting in the surgical preparation and operative procedures of surgical service patients. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Assists surgeon in preparing patient for operative procedure and assists surgeon during the operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and experience: High school graduate or GED with vocational training in surgical technology required. Completion of a college or technical training program in surgical technology preferred. Previous six to twelve month's experience as a surgical technologist preferred.

Licensure, registration and/or certification: Certification in Certified Surgical Technology by Associate of Surgical Technology required or obtain certification within six months.

Essential knowledge and skills: Broad knowledge in perioperative. Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and JCAHO standards related to perioperative.
