About this job

Commercial handyman and service technician in Houston and Surrounding areas.
The technician's duties shall generally consist of completion of repairs and maintenance as assigned. The required duties may include, but not limited to, electrical installation and repair service, plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, concrete work, heating, and related work. Tech may work independently, under supervision as a helper, or as a lead handyman over others to accomplish specific projects. Must have aptitude to communicate with customer, produce quality workmanship and provide outstanding customer service consistent with company standards.

What You Will Do:
* Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
* Complete Monthly checklist of routine maintenance in commercial businesses.
Schedule maintenance with customer, complete repairs as needed and quote future work.
* Repair structures; build and install cabinets, partitions and shelves; repair furniture and equipment; install floor coverings, acoustical ceilings, floors, doors, locks, and related items.
* Perform electrical repairs such as replacing switches, ballasts and wiring; repair equipment and water lines; repair faucets, toilets, urinals, sewers, plumbing, pumps, check valves, heating and ventilating systems and related equipment.
* Paint building interiors and exteriors
* Estimate materials, labor, and time needed for projects; operates light equipment and required to travel to facilities throughout the region and to transport materials, fixtures, and equipment, as required.
* Trouble shooting and project scope development and estimating.
Position Requirements
* Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds
* Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions
* Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and in rare cases, high, precarious places
* Thoroughly and accurately complete reactive and preventive maintenance paperwork.
* Assist in emergencies as needed Completes assigned PM's and reactive maintenance repairs requiring, but not limited to the following skills
* You must possess a strong background in the following skill sets:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Drywall Repair
- Tape, floating, skimming and texturing
- Painting
- Flooring
- General Carpentry
- Locks
* You must furnish your own tools and pass a background check.

Qualifications:
* EPA and HVAC Certification is a plus
* CPO Certification a plus
* Must have electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair and painting knowledge
* Must have GED, High school or technical school education
* Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
* Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned
* Must be detail oriented, organized and dependable
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must be a team player, professional and dependable at all times
* Must have a great personality
* Must have 2 years of experience in construction or property maintenance
* Must be proficient with computer software
* Self-motivated with the proven ability prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision

* This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through
Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, the position requires overnight on-call duty and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises.
