Position Summary

Area VP, Technical Operations- Brooklyn & Queens

Time Warner Cable (TWC) currently seeks an Area Vice President (AVP) of Technical Operations for our Brooklyn & Queens locations. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

The Area VP of Operations (AVP) will manage the operations through a team of direct and indirect reports. The individual will be responsible for the technical operations and plant maintenance in the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn. This person will be the overall operations leader for all services in these geographical areas. Along with the above mentioned direct reports, this person will have a team of indirect reports in Care, GR, Communications, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure continuity across the market. In this role, the AVP will ensure compliance with franchise agreements and all other local, state and federal laws. Additionally, the AVP will translate corporate and regional strategies into short and mid-term objectives for the system while consistently achieving monthly field operation standards through the use of technology and effective workforce management practices. As the senior leader this person must have the ability to provide operational input on business decisions that affect the market.


Essential Job Functions:
Achieve regional growth and financial targets, while creating a positive work environment for all employees within the defined area.Translate corporate and regional strategies into short and mid-term objectives for the system while successfully executing initiatives that improve overall customer experience.Functions as the manager in charge of the system’s overall financial performanceAchieve budgetary sales, retention and expense goals. Forecast financial impact of system, labor and market activityAssist in the preparation and manages the annual capital budget, operating budget, and expensesImplement strategic plans for system; analyzes current operations and recommends system improvements and expansionsProvides direction to system management team and employees to ensure delivery of world class customer service and the achievement of subscriber growth goals and financial targetsMaintain and monitor operational metrics (daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure we are meeting prescribed standards and providing an exceptional customer experienceProvide support to regional management in answering information requests from local franchise authorities, support governmental affairs in keeping LFA’s informed regarding planned or unplanned service interruptions or changes that may drive phone calls to municipal officials or outside agenciesEnsure customer care levels are in compliance with local and national agency requirements. Oversee staff efforts to resolve customer problems that are escalated to these agenciesWork in partnership with call center management to ensure an acceptable and exceptional level of customer satisfactionIs knowledgeable of and committed to a diverse workforce and supports the Market’s EEO/AAP goalsCultivates a positive and respectful work environment through employee education, positive reinforcement, modeling the behavior, providing adequate work tools, and administering policies fairly and consistentlyIn partnership with Human Resources leader, maintains an effective personnel and EEO program, supports the implementation of staff development and employee morale programs. Handle all labor relations issues and activities in a timely manner.

Job & Educational Requirements
A minimum of 5-10 years leading large field operations teams within the cable or telecommunications industries.Previous operating experience in systems of a minimum of 300,000 subscribers, with a background focused in system management, or engineering/technical operations.Proven track record of success in growing and defending the business in a competitive environment.BA/BS Degree in Management or related field, or the equivalent in related experience. An advanced degree in Business Administration highly preferred.Legal/Financial Responsibilities: Requires adherence to Time Warner Standards of Business Conduct. Position must assist in maintaining the confidentiality of customer and business data at all times.
