The Area Sales Manager is responsible for building a team of Retail Mortgage Loan Originators who will sell Capital One lending products and services to prospective clients. This position is responsible for mortgage promotion through events and relationships with third parties to establish a presence in the mortgage market. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the team achieves sales production goals and maintains compliance with company, Federal, State laws, policies and guidelines.The Area Sales Manager is a non-producing role to give you the time you need to have hands on partnerships with your Mortgage Loan Officer team to ensure that each is achieving his personal goals along with delivering an excellent customer experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Establish production goals and strategy for Mortgage Loan Officers
-
Coach, motivate, and support direct reports through established performance management processes.

- Identify, plan, organize and implement sales programs and strategies to deliver sales objectives
- Responsible for recruiting and building a high performance team and retaining top performers
- Responsible for onboarding new Mortgage Loan Officers & helping them achieve the Sales Productivity goals established
- Responsible for driving sales productivity and profitability

- Ensure that teams are following set policies & procedures so that all loans are quality material and in compliance with Capital One, Regulatory & Investor requirements
- Responsible for proper management of expenses, revenue generation and profit & loss statement
- Responsible for Sales and Product Training in the region
- Responsible for top performance in customer service
- Ensure Mortgage Loan Officers are maintaining “best in class” customer service levels
- Partner with Fulfillment/Operations to ensure efficient customer driven production, fulfillment/operations, pricing and delivery
- Thrive in a team environment and utilize exceptional partnership skills
- Responsible for motivating & rewarding mortgage loan officers through sales calls notating excellent performance results and supporting joint sales calls/ventures

- Provide coaching and feedback to your team

- Use analytical and problem solving skills to drive business
- To promote behavior that is consistent with Capital One’s visions, values and ethics in order to “do the right thing always.”

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification, or military experience
- 3 years of Sales Management experience
-
3 years of experience in residential mortgage sales originations
- 3 years of experience in mortgage originations operations with a knowledge of loan underwriting, processing and closing functions
- 3 years of experience in FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA programs and underwriting guidelines, as well as those of other conventional investors, state/local bond programs and private mortgage insurers

3 years of experience in marketing and strategy planning in a mortgage sales environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

- 5 years of experience working in a Bank regulated environment focused on Retail Mortgage Sales
