Are you an experienced Tool and Die Maker? Our client in Dundee has an immediate opening on afternoon shift (5:00pm - 3:30am). Pay rate will range between $19-24 per hour, depending on experience. The selected candidate must be able to run all tool room machinery, be able to do extensive die maintenance, upgrade tooling of all sorts, and be able to build new tooling such as dies, fixtures, gages, etc. Job duties: * Viewing CAD drawings/prints and understanding datum structure, GD&T, and general tolerancing. * Assembling die referencing drawings provided, knowing how to "time out" a die, and being able to set proper die clearances for trims and holes. * Setting dies (hilo), setting coils (crane), starting strip, setting feeder (progression), setting pilot release, and making ram adjustments. * Reading strip and modifying tool to clear for interferences while die is in press. * Using conventional layout tools (surface plate, angle plate, height gage, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) as well as check aids (provided) to determine quality of parts at initial tryout. * Reading strip, determining what changes are needed in the tool and making those changes. * Developing trim-line using gridded laser-cut strips. * Working with CMM Programmer in compilation of layout and capability data. * Painting, stenciling, and finalizing die for production prior to shipment. * Traveling to designated manufacturing plant once die has shipped to support home-line tryout. * Working with plant personnel, making tooling adjustments as necessary to support 300 PC PPAP requirements. * Promoting teamwork and show a willingness to work with other departments. * Taking initiative to find solutions quickly to problems that arise. * Demonstrating good work planning practices in order to do jobs in a very timely, efficient, and safe manner. * Demonstrating self-motivation and willingness to continually improve work. Preferred qualifications: * High school diploma or GED. * Three to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience. * Journeyman card preferred. * Understanding of the die build process. * Must be able to conventionally machine (bridgeport, surface grinder, drill press, lathe, etc.). * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * GD&T knowledge. * Ability to run all tool room and precision equipment efficiently. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints. * Excellent attendance record and safety record.
