Experis is partnering with our Client, a Steel Forging company in the Aerospace Industry, to identify a Talented Senior Electrical Engineer for their South Gate, CA location.

Senior Electrical Engineer:
SUMMARY

Designs and implements improvements for new and existing equipment to increase company's manufacturing capabilities. Provides engineering support as required for the Maintenance Department and to ensure timely completion of projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
Prepares designs for new equipment for review; prepares designs for modifications to existing equipment as required.
Prepares detailed drawings and/or program listings, and develops material lists for all components.
Works with vendors to determine the best equipment to use to keep the company's equipment at the forefront of technology.
Works closely with Maintenance and Production Departments to evaluate problems encountered with the equipment and to assist with the solutions as required.
Works in closely with Plant Maintenance Supervisors to support and train plant maintenance electricians. Training includes scheduling, determining the content of each training session and providing information to conduct training sessions.
Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
Provides assistance to the Plant Engineer on major projects such as expansion of facilities, acquisition and installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes, and other related matters as directed.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks, including PLC programming, HMI programming and design.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; or four to six years related experience and/or training in design engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, general electrical engineering skills as well as experience in PLC, including data highway, device net; and control system design.
Preferred technical capabilities include ACAD (electrical), RS Logic, SLC programming, Panelview programming, Allen Bradley experience.
