Be a part of a growing regional University! Sodexo Campus Dining has an opportunity for a Food Service Manager II (Resident Dining Manager) for Emporia State University located in Emporia, KS .

Our campus enrollment is growing and our Memorial Union recently underwent a $22 million renovation. Emporia is full of activity with NCAA Division II athletics for men and women as well as outstanding theatre and the arts programs. We serve as the premier event venue for regional meetings and conferences in the area as well as "wedding central" for many brides and grooms in the area by offering them an all-inclusive venue.

As Resident Dining Manager, you will oversee the campus resident dining program at the Hornets' Nest, which is the "center of it all" on campus. Partnering with our Executive Chef, the focus for this position is to drive student satisfaction. You will oversee the Sodexo resident dining platforms including all of the "specialty taste changers" (celebrity chef week, for example), LTO's (limited time offerings), interact with students and run the student dining committee.

Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will possess:

3+ years of leadership experience within a high-volume, quality-focused food environment, preferably within a campus/university setting. Solid organizational skills and excellent leadership/team building skills High expectations for customer service and quality of food. Ability and willingness to develop and train 30 frontline employees. Passion for food and innovation. Ability to interact with and engage students. Ability to think out of the box. Knowledge of Sodexo systems preferred.

Position Summary

Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single unit. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 1 year

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
