Desert Regional Medical Center is a 387-bed tertiary acute care hospital located in Palm Springs.

The Nurse Practitioner is a key participant in the Heartburn Treatment Center team, serving as a liaison between the patient, the physicians, Desert Regional, and Legato Medical Systems. The Nurse Practitioner will participate in the oversight of all aspects of Heartburn Treatment Center operations. The position blends technical skills with extensive patient and physician interaction. By supervising the continuum of care from the first patient contact through diagnostics and therapy, the Nurse Practitioner assures that the Heartburn Treatment Center patient receives care that is timely, compassionate, and technically excellent.

The Nurse Practitioner must combine various skills in a manner that encourages building relationships with patients, physicians, office staff, hospital personnel and the community.

Required:

Masters Degree in Nursing

Current California RN license and Nurse Practitioner Certificate

Specialty Board Certification as an FNP/ANP or equivalent in specialty area

Current California Furnishing License and DEA Number

Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times)

Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner

Excellent communication skills

Significant clinical nursing experience including broad experience with surgical patients and/or those undergoing invasive procedures.

Preferred:

Two years of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner

Clinical experience in performing esophageal manometry and ambulatory pH studies, or express a willingness to be trained in these procedures.
