Position Description:

Positions in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.

Primary Responsibilities: 



  • Design, implement and maintain applications within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processes

  • Communicate effectively with other engineers and QA

  • Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed

  • Identify production and non-production application issues

  • Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications 

  • Provide technical support and consultation for an application and infrastructure questions

  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced developers 

  • Developing pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends

  • Contribute to development team and help to achieve key business objectives

  • Contribute to large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives

  • Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making

  • Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams

  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

  • The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills, must be able to work well with teams

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • 2+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience

  • 2+ years of Java development experience

  • 1+ years RDMS development experience

  • Bachelor's degree OR HS Diploma/GED plus 5+ years equivalent development experience

 


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Healthcare experience is a plus

  • Facets experience is a plus

  • WebSphere and/or JBOSS Application Server experience a plus

  • Experience working in a virtual team environment

  • Experience with Source Control systems (like SVN) and Testing tools (like ALM)
