Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviews admissions and pre-admissions referred for insurance.
- Obtains composition of householld and finances.
- Establishes patient's legal residence
- Evaluates existing benefits and investigates eligibility for additional insurance
- Determines patient eligibility for financial assistance or financial arrangement
- Sets up payment plans.
- Collects deposits/maternity co pays.
- Conducts bedside collections via portable computer workstation.
- Secures required documentation and completes Marketplace Medicaid applications in a timely manner
- Codes invision, AEOS & AIM systems
- Tracks and updates activity in invision
- Works closely with Social Work/Case Management on discharge planning.
- Attends workshops offered by Greater NY Hospital Counsel and Dept. of Social Services to keep abreast of changing givernment mandates,
- Assists consumers who are in need of insurance.
- Performs related duties as required.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a Medical setting
- Previous Customer Service experience
- Certified Application Counselor
- Knowledge of Marketplace and Medicaid application process
