Licensed Practical Nurse - LPG Heart Group

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience while ensuring patient care is delivered safely, effectively and efficiently. This position is responsible for the collection of patient health data and the safe delivery and documentation of selected acts such as administration of treatments and medications. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for collecting data in a systematic and ongoing manner which is based on patient response to treatments, medications and changes in condition. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for implementing patient care which follows physician orders or falls under the guidance and discretion of the registered nurse, while incorporating knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity. This position ensures care delivered is safe and meets the requirements of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, license, regulatory agencies and LMHS policies and procedures. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for professional communication and collaboration with other health care team members to ensure the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Other responsibilities include; assisting with procedures, performing phlebotomy, processing lab specimens and the safe operation of medical equipment. This position provides patient education as directed by the physician. This position reports to the Manager/Supervisor and is non-exempt. 3-2013

Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing program. Experience: 3 years recent clinical experience in a multi-physician office, urgent care or ambulatory/outpatient setting preferred. Will train new licensed graduate. License: Florida Licensed Practical Nurse. Other: Above average communication skills. Adaptable and participative with technology changes. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred. Specialty Areas: AHA BLS preferred.
