ONCOLOGY NURSE NAVIGATOR - ONCOLOGY SVCS - *$3k SIGN-ON BONUS* FT, DAYS

The Oncology Nurse Navigator is responsible for the navigation of patients with a cancer diagnosis through the continuum of care. The Nurse Navigator improves patient preparedness for treatment via education and psychosocial support by facilitating interaction between patients and their physician(s), providing logistical support, and by facilitating the referral process. The Nurse Navigator assists in the development of appropriate education materials and program monitoring to promote coordination of care and patient compliance and patient satisfaction. The Nurse Navigator will enhance the patient's and family's quality of life through assessment, teaching, communication, and emotional support through patient centered care.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, and/or EXPERIENCE

BSN required. OCN preferred, but must be obtained within two years from hire. Requires several years of nursing experience in the area of oncology specialization.

REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification required.

OTHER REQUIRED SPECIAL SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE

Problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills, excellent organizational, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a self-directed environment and work effectively in a team environment. Computer skills. Possess knowledge of community resources, hospital processes, structure, and function.
