# Description
The Senior Copywriter is a department leader responsible for developing new copy across channelsin support of campaign objectives, from concept through execution.Responsible for developing strategic and persuasive messages that position Toys“Râ€Us, Babies“Râ€Us and FAO Schwarz as the world's greatest baby and toy brands, the Senior Copywriter maintains the distinctive voice for each brand across a wide variety of media (digital, print, etc.) and collateral applications,balancing innovation with consistency.
The Senior Copywriter works closely with a number of cross-functional partners to ensure a superior customer experience through clear, concise, compelling and accurate communications. Able to work independently with little oversight and lead others, the Senior Copywriter is both strategic and detail-oriented, comfortable in broad discussions about objectives and able to drill down to finer points.
*Responsibilities*
* Leads copy development for concept work and campaigns, and sees through to execution.
* Writes and self-edits copy to embody the voice of the brand, while maintaining consistency throughout various campaigns and related collateral projects.
* Writes compelling promotional copy based on marketing direction, channel nuance, previous success, research and legal requirements.
* Responsible for all copy pertaining to programs/initiatives assigned.
* Proactively seeks effectiveness in advertising by researching and understanding the needs of our customers.
* Collaborates with Design and Marketing partners to create synergy and integration in concept development as well as execution across all marketing channels.
* Acquires, interprets and adapts all information provided for each initiative, including creative briefs, buyer input, Merchandise Information Sheets, and other supporting documents.
* Researches competitors’ advertisements and campaigns, vendors and customer feedback.
* Plans, prioritizes, and organizes a high volume of work effectively to meet all deadlines.
* Delivers work that meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.Proofreads and ensures that all copy solutions satisfy marketing objectives and creative guidelines, requiring little or no revisions.
# Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, LiberalArts or equivalent work experience
* 5-7 years of advertising copywriting experience, retail preferred
* Proven strength in problem analysis, and decision making
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; database experience a plus
* Portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength
