JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing specialized repair and maintenance, as well as construction and life safety equipment inspection, with repairs as needed. This position also alters and supports their continuous operation.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :

Refrigeration Mechanic

Diagnoses, repairs and maintains refrigeration equipment without recourse to supervision. Must be a certified mechanic as required by EPA regulations and guidelines.

Plumber

Has a thorough knowledge of plumbing mechanics and layout, including gradient requirements and proper selection of valves, pressure reducers and fittings, etc. Has a thorough knowledge of supply and waste systems.

Boiler Mechanic

Has a thorough knowledge of all phases of boiler operation and maintenance, including but not limited to replacement of firebrick, liners and diagnosis of ignition and fuel reactions. Must have a thorough understanding of combustion calibration procedures using the proper calibration equipment.

Generator/Diesel Mechanic

Has a thorough knowledge of emergency generators, including diagnostics and mechanical repairs required for the continued operation of the equipment on a day-to-day basis.

Electrician

Has a thorough knowledge of industrial electricity and distribution systems. Must be at the level of a journeyman electrician.

Electronics Mechanic

Has a thorough knowledge of electronic systems and equipment, including design layout and installation of systems and equipment.

Miscellaneous Specialties (Carpet Layers, Carpenters, Painters, Purchasing, Convention Center, Kitchen, Machinist, Building Control & Systems Monitor)

General Mechanic III

Performs and directs the performance of preventive maintenance, such as trouble shooting, and repairs utilities and equipment in order to prevent their malfunction and inconvenience and/or discomfort to our guests.

Repairs or provides direction for repairs on building, utilities and equipment to ensure their proper operation according to department standards, and corrects the problem promptly to minimize inconvenience to guests.

Inspects utilities and equipment to ensure their proper operation and the safety of the property, guests, and employees.

Renovates, constructs or restores property exterior and interior or directs the process when necessary to maintain the structure quality, as well as ensuring safety to guests and employees.

Orders and tracks parts in order to maintain proper inventory.

Assists in training and supervising Engineering Mechanics I and II.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school degree or equivalent

Must have a minimum of four years' experience in operation of one or more of the specific qualifications as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Fluency and literacy in English.

Team Player with excellent customer service skills and a commitment to success.

Must be able to provide basic tools.

Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Visual field must include immediate environment.

Auditory range must include immediate environment.

Physical mobility to move about property quickly.

Ability to frequently lift, push, pull up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 90 pounds

Ability to climb ladders or crawl through tight spaces in high or low areas while carrying approximately 30 pounds of tools or equipment.

Agility skills to include occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and turning.

Dexterity skills to include constant reaching, handling, working with fingers, and hand coordination.

Ability to tolerate tight spaces in high or low areas

Ability to tolerate dust, chemicals or fumes

Potential exposure to hazardous conditions

Must be able to work in a "smoke-filled" environment and tolerate loud noises and bright lights.

Must be capable of working indoors or outdoors during all seasons, including unusually hot, cold, smoky, and/or dimly lit areas.
