Job Description:
You will be in charge of floor staff and hotel events both inside and out making sure that the tables are decorated and arranged correctly, the food is presented well, and that a high level of service is provided

Equipment Used:
Computer, AV equipment, microphones and banquet serving and set-up equipment

Knowledge/Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have previous restaurant or hotel banquet experience minimum of 3 years
  • Management experience helpful
  • Must be able to deal with the general public, guests, customers and employees with tact and courtesy
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
  • Must be able to analyze budget and food costs

Essential Tasks:

  • Ensures proper service to clients during functions
  • Supervises banquet staff; training and development
  • Assists staff in setting up a function room to the desired specifications
  • Verify staffing levels for next day functions. Adjust schedules accordingly through the addition or cancellation of servers/bartenders/house persons
  • Post all banquet checks at end of day, turn into Night Audit & complete any liquor requisitions
  • Make contact with group representatives
  • Operate as a banquet server as needed
  • Communicate all banquet event order changes to catering office and affected departments
  • Ensure that all banquet areas are neat and clean
