Maintenance Tech - HVAC Technician
Job Description:
The HVAC Technician includes all types of HVAC devices such as maintaining refrigerators, air conditioning units, heaters, and other related fan type units ensuring that each unit assigned are functioning at all times especially when they are needed the most.
The scope of work includes performing diagnostics, flushing AC units, repair and part replacements in an HVAC System. The HVAC Technician must have knowledge in dealing with refrigerant and Freon gas and understanding the serious environmental effects if improperly handled and must know how dispose of unused material property. Work required by the HVAC tech must have a good understanding of safety procedures and how to handle various work-related factors that could pose a danger to themselves and others around them.
Requirements.
Type I certification is a must. Type II not necessarily a requirement but would be helpful.
The HVAC technician, that will be working primarily as a hot/cold technician, must be certified in as a HVAC tech and must have working knowledge in the areas with kitchen equipment such as burners, steamers, refrigerators, gaskets replacements and other related kitchen repairs as needed on a daily basis.
The HVAC tech must have a working knowledge of some basic electronics in wiring and basic trouble shooting techniques. Certain work conditions like heights and cramped spaces may part of the daily job assignment.
* Type I Certification
Technicians with this level of certification are able to provide services to small and light HVAC devices like vending machines, window air conditioners and refrigerators for residential properties. In addition, their services are limited towards repairs and diagnosis
* Type II Certification
This is granted towards Technicians who are deemed capable of handling high pressure refrigerants found in residential air conditioners, heat pumps and refrigerators for industries and supermarkets.
