Providence is calling a full-time, day shift, Obstetrics Acute Registered Nurse to Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.

In this position you will:

Working under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Charge RN, Maternal Child Health, the Registered Nurse of the Mother, Baby Unit (newborn nursery and postpartum) is a professionally licensed person with demonstrated perinatal clinical expertise.

The individual in this position provides 100% clinical service for the Mother, baby unit by: Planning and coordinating ante and postpartum care, & newborn care. Applying and interpreting hospital policies and nursing practice guidelines.

Participate in the monitoring of the inventory control of supplies.

Ensuring the order, functionality, and availability of supplies and equipment.

Maintaining an effective line of communication with the Charge RN, physicians, peers, ancillary staff, and visitors.

Participating in select patient care activities such as instructing, teaching, demonstrating, and evaluating patients progress against anticipated outcomes.

Participating in and collaborating with the Administrative Director, in meeting the department's budgetary objectives.

Behaviorally supporting the philosophy, objectives and goals of hospital administration and its representative.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License

Current Basic Life Support card (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Pediatric experience
