About this job

Under the supervision of Hatchery Manager, the incumbent will monitor condition of eggs and remove dead eggs. Monitor hatched fry and remove egg shells. Monitor water flows in the hatchery building and outside raceways. Observe facility and report any suspicious activity to security, report any facility maintenance needs to management. Attend structured training and safety sessions, maintain safe work practices and monitor safe equipment and material use. Clean assigned buildings. Mow lawns and trim shrubs. Wash windows, empty trash. Unlock facility at sunrise, raise flags. Clean ponds. Be available to help load rendering and unload any shipments when they occur on your shift, other duties as required. Incumbent shall possess a valid California class "C" driver license and acquire a forklift certification. Incumbent will perform grounds, facility and equipment maintenance. May be required to work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and special events.

Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and be able to work in all types of weather conditions, work in and around water and on uneven ground.

Hours will be 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and will work weekends and Holidays with various days off.

STATE HOUSING IS NOT AVAILABLE.
