LOOKING FOR A CHEMIST FOR HPLC EXPERIENCE

*What does a typical day look like?*
-This person would work 8 hour shifts, they do rotate between 1st and 2nd shift. We have enough techs that they only work 2nd shift every 3rd or 4th month. The rotation on second shift is 4 weeks long. This person will run physical tests(ph, density, particle size, moisture-Karl Fisher, etc. They will analyze samples by HPLC and GC using established SOP's. They will calculate adjustments for off spec material and learn to do basic maintenance on equipment
- Performs routine analytical procedures on assigned samples, using gas chromatography, HPLC and other instrumentation and techniques as necessary.
- Generates daily production batch sheets from OPM, perform required sampling, enters results in excel data sheets daily, and reports results as required.
- Calculates adjustments for any products that do not meet specifications and generates appropriate production batch documents from OPM.
- Properly records all test results in excel data sheets and notifies appropriate personnel of any lab results outside the range of specifications.
- Analyzes finished product per S.O.P. or specifications and updates the OPM status timely and accurately per the product analysis / review.
- Maintains and updates as necessary MSDS records kept on file in laboratory.
- Records and maintains files electronically for lab analyses, including Certificate of Analysis correspondence and methods pertinent to lab procedures and testing.
- Support the general plant safety program for each area during line checks and start up meetings by utilizing the safety training that is received.
