Senior Web Development Engineer at our office in Herndon, Virginia. The intention is to find a full-stack engineer who is equally comfortable with middle tier and front-end development. This position will join the Content Portals engineering team. The Content Portals are sites focused on News, Entertainment and Sports delivery for TWC customers. Below, please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
The selected candidate will design, configure, deploy and maintain scalable, interactive Web applications that deliver rich media and dynamic content to TWC customers.
Essential Job Functions:
Apply industry best practices in architecting, deploying and maintaining applications to support the company’s mission of connecting people with information, entertainment and communities.Demonstrate expertise in designing and administering scalable Web solutions.Demonstrate experience with high volume, long-life projects, balancing feature velocity, long-term maintenance costs, and operational effort.Monitor industry trends and be an advocate for technological evolution.Demonstrate ability to communicate with cross-functional teams for common goals.
Job Requirements:
5+ years working in a UNIX/Linux environment.5+ years administering Web application servers (Apache, Tomcat) expertise.5+ years of programming experience with JVM languages (Java, Groovy, Scala etc.).5+ years of JSP programming experience.Experience administering Java Web technologies (Servlets, MVC Frameworks, Caching, Compression, Object-Relational Mapping).5+ years of JavaScript programming5+ years developing RESTful services.5+ years of HTML and CSS5+ years of operational support experience for development, QA, and production environments.Demonstrated ability to administer and optimize dynamic Web applications at scale (>10M monthly unique visitors).Demonstrated knowledge of high availability environments and geographic redundancyDemonstrated experience with Web analytics, real time monitoring and alerting, performance trending, and capacity planning.Demonstrated experience supporting a fast paced collaborative Agile development environment.Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Source Code Control, Automation.Demonstrate willingness to adapt to emerging technological changes.Work and communicate clearly and efficiently with others in a team environment.Demonstrated high standard of work ethics
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of JS frameworks (Angular, Backbone).
Knowledge of responsive web design and associated frameworks (e.g. bootstrap).

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
