The Product Sales Manager is a key position responsible for driving all strategic and financial aspects of the ERS product line. The PSM has primary responsibility for all financial goals associated with the product line, including new orders, profitability, and working with Finance to ensure payments. This position is both strategic and tactical and has very high visibility within the organization and the industry. Position reports directly to the Vice President Sales. The successful candidate must exhibit both technical and commercial savvy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly oversee and actively participate in all proposal engineering activities.
- Develop strategies with field sales for all opportunities.
- Ensure close cooperative relationships with field sales and key customers including regular in person contact.
- Participate in technical conferences and trade events.
- Take the lead in developing strategic, tactical, and customer specific strategies in cooperation with field sales and all internal departments.
- Identify and specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Develop and implement go-to-market plans, including the specification of all advertising and promotional requirements.
- Preparing short-term through long-term product sales forecasts and other special reports and analyses as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Impeccable ethics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Electric utility industry background from either a utility or industry supplier perspective.
- International sales experience. Direct contact experience with international sales personnel and customers strongly preferred.
- Experience with managing complex contracts and Letters of Credit a plus.
- Product marketing/sales/management experience.
- Civil or Mechanical Engineering background, or utility transmission line design experience a strong plus.
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- This position requires occasional travel to customer and non-customer sites throughout the world (10-20%).
