SUMMARY

The Cook is responsible for preparation of items needed for the service of hot entrees and sides for the cafeteria, and some in-house catering. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary working environment. This position functions as part of a team that insures adequate foods for the above mentioned areas until the end of meal service. This position works both breakfast and lunch meal periods. Quality is controlled using batch-cooking methods and creative uses for left over foods are employed to prevent waste and increase sales. Cooked foods are prepared in a timely fashion, in sufficient quantities, in order to prevent delays in cafeteria service. Food must look and taste good.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Able to read and write and perform basic arithmetic and fractional calculations. Must have successfully completed a minimum of two years' experience in institutional or commercial cooking. Some lead cook experience desirable.
