Providence is calling a ACU and Emergency Nurse Manager to Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Chewelah, WA.
We are seeking a talented leader to assume accountability for directing quality patient care for the Acute Care and Emergency Department units in a cost-effective manner, complying with patient care standards and job-specific performance standards through observation of clinical practice and implementation of key Providence clinical improvement programs such as quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
In this position you will:
Develop the annual operational plan supportive of the specific organization and Providence Health & Services strategic plan. Develop policies and procedures, standards of care, and department processes that are in compliance with accrediting bodies, clinical initiatives, and current standards of care. Maintain adequate staffing levels for the Acute Care and Emergency units assuring 24 hour nursing coverage. Accept responsibility for effective employee performance and competency. Assure that the budget, staffing levels, and productivity of the department are maintained in accordance with hospital standards. Operate cost-effective, profitable department operations, and maintains staff at an optimum cost-effective level. Successfully incorporate age-specific considerations for care with each and every patient. Work as Nursing Supervisor when assigned and function according to duties as described in job description for Nursing Supervisor.
Required qualifications for this position include: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's degree with Advanced Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or actively be in the process of enrolling in a BSN program with a completion date within 4 years. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by Washington State Division of Professional Licensing. Must have current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or actively be in the process of enrollment and certification. Must have Trauma Nurse Core (TNCC) or equivalent and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
or equivalent. (Does not need to be current, but must show evidence of attendance.) Two (2) to four (4) years of progressively responsible nursing management experience (leadership experience such as Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor in an acute care hospital).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification in at least one nursing specialty.
Prior experience as Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager in Emergency Department. Experience specific to assigned clinical area. Operational knowledge of all department-specific equipment.
