Position Highlights
Established in 1971, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center has been rapidly growing and transforming to offer the Greater Houston community and Southeast Texas expanded and improved services. Today our clinical breadth and depth of expertise offer patients locally and internationally first-rate medical care in a convenient setting. Memorial City Medical Center (MCMC) is a licensed 426-bed acute care hospital located at the geographic epicenter of Houston's exploding population: Interstate 10 and Beltway 8.
Our five cardiac catheterization labs give patients access to leading-edge treatments and procedures. Our labs set a standard for excellence in invasive cardiology and include:
o Advanced digital imaging technologies
o 3-D rotational angiography
o Electrophysiology, a diagnostic procedure designed to examine the electrical function of the heart that is the most accurate, dependable technology for evaluating heart rhythm
o Digital storage of images for fast, easy viewing by family members and physicians from the physician's offices. Physicians can even view images from any Web browser so they can respond quickly in an emergency.
o Vascular imaging is available through our vascular lab, providing many non invasive studies to evaluate arteries and veins for blood clots, artery blockages, aneurysms, and other information that may help with diagnosis and treatment
Additionally, 10 pre-procedure beds and 17 recovery beds next to the labs allow patients to be admitted directly to the lab, have their procedure and be discharged from the same area. If patients require an overnight stay, we have dedicated telemetry and critical care units that specialize in cardiac care.
BASIC FUNCTION: Position responsible for collaborating with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the delivery of patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
2. Experience: One or more years of nursing experience in area of intended practice.
3. Licenses/Certification:
o Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing.
o Certified in Basic Life Support;
o Additional certifications will be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements.
