Department Summary :
Forever 21 is seeking an innovative, energetic, and passionate team player to add to our dynamic Visual team.
Job Function :
The Visual Stylist will drive store sales through fashion forward styling and accessorizing of mannequins for the creation of directives for domestic and international markets.
Deliverables :
Collaborate with the visual merchandising & styling team to review product information (new receipts, promotions, markdowns) and develop styling concepts
Participate in styling projects, introduce new styling techniques and ensure that all styling is reflective the highest level of taste, newest trends and remain competitive with surrounding retailers
Partner with the Assistant Manager, Visual Styling and Associate Manager, Visual Merchandising & Styling to understand & evolve styling for Forever 21 trends
Transform concepts from the visual merchandising team, buyers and upper management into mannequin directives
Photograph, organize and write comprehensive visual direction for bi-weekly updates and product launches
Participate in windows, floor sets, merchandise updates and in-store visual set-ups as needed; assist with new store openings and specialty projects as necessary
Provide comprehensive and exciting guidelines for domestic and international markets
Meet deadlines set by the Assistant Manager, Visual Styling and Associate Manager, Visual Merchandising & Styling to ensure that the Visual Communications & Graphics team receives all photos and written direction on time; overtime is worked as needed
Research upcoming trends via street style, blogs, fashion weeks and magazines on a daily basis
Job Requirements :
Must have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Merchandising or a similar creative background is preferred
Must have 2-3 years of experience in styling
Must have an understanding of fashion trends and possess the ability to translate concepts into relatable, mass marketing styling
Must have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and proficiency in the use of digital cameras
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Must have exceptional styling skills including pinning, wig styling, steaming and fabric knowledge
Must have a strong understanding of fashion and latest trends in all markets
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization and time-management skills
Exceptional level of attention-to-detail
Must be willing and able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and climb/stand atop a ladder
Must be able to think outside of the box
