Knowledge Services is seeking a Data Entry Clerk for a client company.
Responsibilities:
Currently the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has a backlog in dispositions, expungements and background checks [Fingerprint (TAPS)/name based (TORIS)]. The Bureau has attempted to decrease the backlog with overtime; however, but has been unable to keep up with demand with overtime. The Bureau is requesting three temporary workers in the Biometric Services Section (Criminal Records and Fee Programs) to help alleviate the backlog. Expungements are required by law to be processed within 60 days of TBI receiving them. A disposition backlog critically affects handgun purchases and appeals. TAPS/TORIS backlog affects employment as well as certifications approvals.
One of the primary roles of this position will be taking information from the courts and updating criminal histories in the TBI's databases.
Description of Duties (primary & secondary)
Processes expungement orders and dispositions in the TBI's database
Data Entry
Answer phone calls
Hours: 9am-3:5pm or 8:30am - 5pm (37.5hrs/wk = full time& Part time)
Pay: $10hr
(parking provided)
Duration: At least 9 months
