Located in Winston-Salem, NC, our 102-bed inpatient services for adults and adolescents offers comprehensive and indivdual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We are currently seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to join our talented and caring staff. The Dietary Aide is responsible for transporting and serving meals to facility patients and staff, washing dishes, trays and other cooking utensils. Performing general cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, trash removal, cleaning of drink machines, cooking equipment, etc.) to maintain a safe and healthy kitchen and food service area as well as to remain in compliance with Health Department regulations. Role is physically demanding and position requires assisting with the unloading of food delivery and storage in proper location.
Individuals considered for this position must have a friendly and outgoing attitude, must be service-oriented and willing to go beyond the general expectations to please the customer and have a positive team approach to accomplishing tasks. Previous experience in healthcare food services is strongly preferred. Candidates will be required to take a food services knowledge exam as well as particiapte in 2 hours of shadowing as part of the interview process.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Training and Experience: Minimum one year food services experience. Prior healthcare food services experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge in food sanitation and safety, good oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills.
Licenses or Certificates: Must have an active NC Driving License without significant moving violations. ServeSave Certification strongly preferred.
Physical Demands: Position is physically and mentally demanding. Must be able to lift, push and pull 50+ pounds. Must be able to maintain calm and professional in crisis situations.
