We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Manufacturing Engineer (Direct Hire).

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support to assigned UAP (Autonomous Production Unit) and continuous improvement efforts. The main missions of the role are to:

  • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to assigned UAP
  • Provide support to Quality Department and UAP Quality Engineer as required
  • Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, quality and production efficiency
  • Assist in other UAP support as assigned
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement events as assigned
  • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
  • Develop plans in accordance with customer requirements using value analysis, and other techniques including PFMEA and control plans
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts of the company through value analysis, maintaining up to date knowledge of manufacturing/tooling techniques
  • Responsible for any changes to products or equipment from Engineering changes
  • Responsible for final approval and turn over of projects to manufacturing/production
  • Review all production methods for compliance to quality and safety standards and for improvement of product quality standards
  • Develop and implement manufacturing documentation and other operator instructions
  • Prepare documentation, checking equipment planning, designing for floor inspections
  • Train supervisors for in process, and other processes as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Engineering; or, minimum 5 years previous experience as Manufacturing Engineer
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering techniques associated with project management
  • Must be capable of working with a wide variety of people from the shop floor to senior managers, vendors, suppliers and customers
  • Minimum of two (2) years of automotive experience
  • Practical knowledge of AQP functions, continuous improvement, and other analytical and action planning tools
  • Knowledgeable computer skills
