Position Summary:

Plan the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. Establish work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Essential Job Functions:

• Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operation data, such as production costs, production flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment through application of various Industrial Engineering techniques.

• Conduct Labor Management Systems validations: determines which variables to change, verifies the accuracy of the program logic for calculating labor standards, tracks associate performance and completes process flow charts.

• Compile time study data, inputs time study data, and calculates associate percent performance by individual work element and overall performance.

• Develop, coordinate, and monitor reporting systems to measure labor efficiency and productivity on an on-going basis. Provide relevant feedback to operations personnel and develop action items to address opportunities.

• Identify, evaluate, and develop project solutions and recommendations for minimizing total operational costs. Also, presenting and selling recommendations to all levels of management.

• Conduct feasibility studies of varied projects to determine the worth of an investment and provide economic justification for capital appropriations.

• Conduct training on relevant Industrial Engineering subjects with operations management, union leadership, and distribution center associates.

• Assist Supply Chain Management in directing all on-going projects as required and acting as department liaison to operations management, union leadership, and distribution center associates to ensure projects are brought to a timely and cost efficient conclusion.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and 1 - 2 years' experience.
  • Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel independently on a regular basis.
  • Commitment to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important and appreciated.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.
  • Familiarity with industrial engineering terms and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Ability and willingness to continue education as necessary.
Desired Previous Job Experience
  • Industrial Engineering Level 1, Logistics.
  • Master's Degree
