Under the direction of the Procurement & Services Officer II, maintains order and supervises the conduct of Youthful Offenders, protects and maintains the safety of persons and property in performance of these duties: RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 80% Performs preventive maintenance inspection and repairs, major and minor, on heavy equipment, including: trucks, buses, tractors, gas and diesel powered emergency stand-by generators. Performs small engine, light and medium vehicle repairs, engine rebuilding, brakes, electrical, air conditioning, vehicle emissions testing, fuel injection, transmission, and drive axle. Fabricates and welds equipment. 10% Operates and maintains shop equipment. Orders and stocks repair parts. 10% Maintains vehicle records and job repair orders. Typical equipment operated in job performance includes: wire feed arc welders, gas welders, drum lathe, electronic wheel balancer, digital and analog engine analyzers, oscilloscope emission analyzer, and various hand and power tools.
