Pay $25-$26/hr, DOE
1st Shift, 7:30AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday
Duties include:
Buy, plan and purchase 100+ supplies and materials daily
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Utilize computers for various applications.
Accountable for the supply management for one or more assigned Suppliers and for inventory levels for assigned products
Able to find optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels
Requirements include:
Knowledge of APICS and MAPICS system
Advanced computer skills required.
Excellent time management skills.
Great attendance.
Reliable team player.
Able to work independently
Able to develop and maintain supplier relationships
Able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Knowledge of inventory control, receiving and accounting practices
Secure and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing and recommend supplier with respect to cost, quality and delivery
Knowledge of JIT and Kanban programs
Experience with AS400/MAPICS Green Screen or XA preferred
3-5 years experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control in a manufacturing environment
Will go on the factory floor from time to time
Requirements
The Buyer will be responsible for performing detailed production planning and purchasing functions and is accountable for the supply management for one or more assigned Suppliers and for inventory levels for assigned products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Buy, plan and purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
Be a member on cross-functional teams responsible for Supply Chain Requirements across project sites. This highly visible role will interact heavily with other employees to improve material movement, cost, on-time delivery, and lead-time.
Actively participate in driving business results.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Qualifications/Training:
Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
Must be computer literate and have some working knowledge of a general APICS or MAPICS system
Ability to buy competitively and wisely
Develop reliable and effective supply sources
Develop and maintain supplier relationships
Administer purchasing and supply management functions proactively, ethically, and efficiently
Ability to purchase in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Initiate purchase orders driven from multiple sources
Responsible for source selection of materials, services, assets, and tooling
Ability to maintain, control, and plan timely receipts of products by managing lead times to ensure available materials without excess inventory
Knowledge of inventory control, receiving, and accounting practices
Secure and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing, and recommend supplier with respect to cost, quality, and delivery
Ability to work with internal customer and team members professionally and efficiently
Maintain ownership of assigned suppliers and commodities
Knowledge of JIT and Kanban programs
Ability to expedite/de-expedite parts based on forecast and production schedule
Understanding and carrying out verbal and written directions.
Pay attention to detail.
Working independently in the absence of supervision.
Experience with AS400/MAPICS Green Screen or XA preferred.
Must be computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft Office Business Suites and/or Lotus. Demonstrated an ability to lead people and get results through others.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
Education and Experience:
3-5 years experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
