Emulsifier Scientist Food Chemist - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is looking for a emulfisifer scientist for a well known food company here in the Kansas City area. This job is a direct placement and is in the pay range between 65-95K a year plus paid relocation.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated scientist and a team player to join us in our Research, Development, and Applications (RDA) Center. The successful candidate should be passionate about conducting food science research in the areas of lipids, cereal chemistry, food polymer science, food applications, as well as food ingredient functionalities and interactions. His/her primary responsibilities will be conducting exploratory research projects both independently and/or in collaboration with both internal and external partners. This scientist should have good communication skills and interpersonal skills to work successfully in cross-functional teams.

Must Haves:
BS Degree required in Chemistry, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry, or other related scientific industry
Minimum 2 years working in food research in industry (practical experience in industry is a must, will not accept academic experience)
Strong understanding of food chemistry, food ingredient functionality, and chemical and physical interactions in food processing
Experience performing physical and chemical characterization
Experience taking application projects from concept to commercialization including pilot plant and full manufacturing scale up

Nice to haves:
Product development and analytical techniques involving fats, oils, and emulsifiers
Rheology skills in experimental design
Statistical analysis
Ideally candidates will have experience in food processing systems
Ideally a food scientist with diverse experience in extending product lines including formulations, pilot plant optimization, and commercialization experience

Experience in fields such as ice cream, sour cream, cottage cheese, or meat would be great
Ideally candidate will come from a large food company where they had exposure to working on several different project types i.e.
Knowledge of Thermodynamics (heat) in food processing would be a bonus
Budget and expenditure experience would be great
Understand food chemistry and geometry of molecules-particular attributes and interactions

NOT looking for a lipid scientist or emulsifier scientist however experience with lipids and proteins would be great
