Associateare responsible for providing excellent customer service by satisfying each customer’s need, exceeding their expectations and ensuring that customers have a warm and friendly shopping experience throughout the store. In addition they share their product knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers by answering any questions, assisting with product suggestions, educating and walking them to products.  This role is critical to delivering a shopping experience for the customers that is way above their expectations. 


 THE JOB
Customer Service:

• Responsible for daily operation of the specialty cheese area.  This includes merchandising, ordering, assortment, and cutting and wrapping, stock rotation and training of deli associates in the specialty cheese area Drive sales in specialty cheese category by setting exciting, dominant displays, product assortment, sampling, and providing help and education to our customers. 
• Ensure monthly sale items are well stocked, appropriately signed and demoed.
• Respond positively to customer’s inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information and product selection.
• Greet customers establish eye contact with customers.
• Speak to customers in a respectful manner and maintains patience in addressing customer concerns.
• Deliver impeccable customer experience through service and in-stock conditions in the Bakery department.

 
Merchandising:

• Work in partnership with deli and produce associates, and customer solutions specialist to communicate new items, create possible demos and cross merchandising.
• Ensure fresh quality merchandise by rotating stock, using proper product handling procedures, and controlling damages according to company procedures and standards.
• In some cases, may be required to build cheese and/or charcuterie trays as needed.
• Ensures that product has been properly priced with correct signage and handling special requests from time to time.
• Minimize shrink by accurate ordering and sampling close dated products. 
• Continually assess assortment to maximize sales and minimize slow movers.

Team Work:

• Arrive to work on time and ready to work at the start of their shift.
• Be friendly, courteous and respectful of fellow team members – have a positive attitude.
• Discover ways to improve processes.
• Seek out new assignments and responsibilities.

 THE SKILLS THAT ARE NEEDED / ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / EXPERIENCE
Associate Stands, Walk, Squat and Bend and May occasionally lift heavy boxes, milk crates ect... They may also maneuver U-boat loaded with heavy products.
May perform duties in temperature around or below freezing.
Must be able to operate POS System, Handheld Devices and have basic math skills including adding and subtracting.
Ability to use knives, box cutter, and other tools needed to perform require tasks when required.
 
At least 1 year experience in food service experience working with specialty cheese; merchandising, product rotation.
Basic knowledge of retail food, grocery, organic, natural industry
Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
