Providence is calling a Supply Chain Technician I (Part-Time) to the General Stores Department at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, AK.

Monitors and performs the activities which provide services of ordering supplies and equipment for all departments, as well as providing efficient storing and distribution to facilitate the effective operations of the organization.

In this position, you will:

Be responsible for establishing, implementing, reviewing and updating policies and procedures for the department to be in compliance with the Providence Health and Services Region, federal, state, facility regulations and guidelines in coordination with supervisor.

Ensure that inventory levels on all stock items are consistently held at a level that facilitates adequacy of supplies and at the same time, maintains an optimal inventory turnover ratio and rotates outdated stock.

Keep storage and supply areas neat and organized.

Participate in contract price negotiations to assure the best possible prices consistent with quality standards for all items purchased.

Review and establish Quality Improvement for the Purchasing department to ensure continued quality service and products to all patients and staff.

Required qualifications for this position include:

High school diploma required.

Valid State of Alaska Driver's license required.

Experience in purchasing, including inventory control and budget.

Communicate effectively with facility staff and vendors verbally by telephone and in writing.

Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, stoop, climb ladders up to 3 feet, reach, kneel, lift up to 30 pounds without assistance, and push and pull items up to 50 pounds.

Basic computer skills required.
