The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions, in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to the preparation of financial information and reports; compilation and analysis of financial information; reconciliation of general ledger accounts; maintenance of subsidiary ledgers; corporate reporting; documentation of internal controls; and assistance in financial planning and analysis.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for performing general ledger account reconciliations including researching and resolving reconciling items specifically related to credit card receivables and the related cash accounts.
* Responsible for performing account analysis and record keeping of credit card receivable accounts on a daily and monthly basis. Identify processing issues and work with the Information Systems department to resolve.
* Responsible for the reconciliation and analysis of cash accounts
* Month end accruals such as credit card processing fees, unbilled revenue, deposits in transit, etc.
* Validation of currency conversion related to foreign accounts
* Prepare information requested by external auditors and the Parent company
* Ensure all month end reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the Accounting department are prepared and properly filed
* Identify and implement process and performance improvements
* Special projects as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* BA/BS degree in finance or accounting
* 5-7 years accounting experience
* Previous experience within a corporate accounting department
* Experience within a CPA firm a plus
* CPA a plus
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
* Self starter with excellent problem solving skills
* Proven multi-tasking ability
* Solid understanding of GAAP
* Retail industry experience is a plus
* Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be self-directed
* MUST have advance excel skills. Proficiency in Excel specifically with Pivot Tables, V-Look-Ups, and Macros
