About this job

As an Optum 360 Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution as a business unit. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers. As a product manager your key role is primarily strategic, with some tactical responsibility.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Provides strategic product vision
Triage and prioritization of customer feedback
Monitors and plans based on industry challenges / changes
Serves as subject Matter Expert for Clinical Documentation Improvement, Coding and other HIM initiatives
Evangelizes product offerings internally and externally
Problem solves for individual customers
Responsible for defining high level features for future releases and products
Provides high level requirements for product owner team
Participates in product planning, development and execution
Internal and external education
Marketing interaction with providing platform benefits, value propositions and market messaging

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Four-year degree in business, healthcare, or technology (or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years healthcare industry experience
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, practices, processes and IT systems
Knowledge of software development process, experience with requirements management, project management, and complex projects and activities
Experience with MS Office Products
Advanced Excel skills, to include pivot tables
Advanced Microsoft Power Point preparation
Must be willing to travel, including overnight as needed up to 35%
Understands multiple components of complex technology and how they interface or integrate
Basic understanding of Database tables and processing
Understanding of product life cycle and software development processes
Ability to formulate a business case and quantify market opportunities
Excellent analytical skills for assessing market data and quantifying impact
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong presentation and speaking skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification as RHIA, RN, CCS or CPC
Pragmatic Marketing certification highly desirable
5+ Years of experience managing products as a Product Manager
Coding / CDI experience
