About this job

Essential Functions:

  • Interfaces with internal and external personnel to expedite and complete the billing process including data entry of patient demographics and order.
  • Performs advanced quality control checks for completeness and accuracy of claims, investigates questionable data and requests corrective action prior to claim submission.
  • Reviews and approves national billing guideline updates and maintenance, ICD9 coding information, and company billing procedures.
  • Performs statistical reporting and analysis of billing volume and quality control goals to determine problems or trends, apprising management of new trends.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Perform quality control checks by verifying accuracy and completeness of documentation; prepare claims for billing: communicate errors and necessary corrections to coworkers and associates.
  • Reviews, maintains, and updates electronic submission files, insurance company files, insurance ID files, clearing house files, and supplier files.

    Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1.5+ plus years experience in processing health care claims for private insurance and/or federal government programs required
  • DME experience a plus
  • Understanding of medical terminology
